Dubai Watch Week 2023 News and New Watch Releases – Part 2

Dubai Watch Week 2023

We present the second part of our news and new watch selection from Dubai Watch Week 2023. This piece is a followup to Part 1 and is followed by Part 3

Doxa – SUB 300? Seddiqi Edition 2023

Following the successful launch of the SUB 300? in Geneva last September, Doxa presents the 50-piece limited edition SUB 300? Seddiqi Edition 2023 – in honour of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the brand’s Middle East partner. This watch introduces – for the first time in the history of the SUB – a magnificent, deep sea blue dial in natural mother-of-pearl. As the patterns on each dial’s mother-of-pearl are unique, each of the 50 timepieces is thus one-of-a-kind.

While staying true to the aesthetic codes of the SUB 300T’s design, the 300? is slightly reworked to create a slimmer watch – with a profile of just 11.95 mm – and a lower bezel height (by 0.5 mm). The case, carved from a solid block of 316L stainless steel, has a diameter of 42.5 mm and a water resistance rating of 30 ATM. Its bezel features a blue ceramic insert echoing the dial. The watch comes with the signature ‘Beads of Rice’ bracelet in stainless steel, or with a white FKM rubber strap for a lighter more modern look. Both have a folding clasp featuring an adjustable wetsuit extension.

Arnold & Son – Time Pyramid 42.5 in Red Gold and Platinum

Swiss watchmaker Arnold & Son has revisited one of its most iconic and classic collections: Time Pyramid. The timepiece’s 2023 re-edition retains and refines its unique pyramidal appearance and structure, presented in a fully redesigned case with a new 42.5?mm diameter. The new edition also features a blue aventurine glass case back and white opal minutes open-worked dial for the first time. The new models are presented in red gold (5N) and platinum (PT950) cases – colours that are repeated on the rim of the hours and minutes dials.

De Bethune – DBD Evergreen

The DBD Evergreen, a limited edition of 20 pieces, has a lightweight case crafted in polished grade 5 titanium, with ogive-shaped lugs and the crown placed at 12 o’clock. The green dial of the watch is decorated with Côtes de Genève. Visible through its art-deco-style apertures are five discs displaying the day, date, and month at twelve o’clock, while jumping hours and scrolling minutes face each other in the lower half of the dial.

The watch is powered by calibre DB2044, a manually wound manufacture movement vibrating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The DBD Evergreen’s movement is equipped with the latest titanium balance wheel with grey gold inserts, as well as the triple parachute system. The comes with a two-tone beige and green textile strap matching the dial, as well as an extra-supple black alligator strap.

Oris – Unveils the ProPilot X Calibre 400 Laser

Oris presents a new version of its ProPilot X Calibre 400 featuring a shimmering dial produced using an innovative lasering technique never applied in watchmaking before. The titanium dial does not have any colour pigment on it and yet captivates with a spellbinding play of colours, transitioning seamlessly from shades of blue to green and finally to violet as it gracefully moves.

This effect is achieved through an innovative laser treatment that produces optical interference, whereby red light waves are absorbed, while blue and green waves are reflected, resulting in a stunning rainbow effect that changes depending on the viewing angle. Beyond the dial, the watch stays true to the ProPilot X Calibre 400 design. It has a titanium 39 mm case, bezel and crown, and a three-link titanium bracelet.

Singer Reimagined & Perpétuel Gallery Present The Inaugural Pop-Up Store At DWW23

Singer Reimagined – the boutique watch brand founded in 2017 by Marco Borraccino and Rob Dickinson – has teamed up with Perpétuel Gallery to present a Pop-up at DWW23 featuring the brand’s entire timepieces collection. The highlight of the presentation is the display of Singer 1969 models, which feature the award-winning 60-hour central chronograph and the unique zero reset flyback Timer’s movement.

Hamdan Al Hudaidi, Perpétuel’s Founder and Chief Executive, added, ‘’As watch lovers, it’s been a pure joy watching Singer Reimagined’s timepieces evolve, taking what they have from every aspect to the next level. Our journey together has led to an exciting partnership and now, the heartfelt creation of their own pop-up store in the heart of Dubai.’’
