Unlike most prestige watch brands of today, A. Lange & Söhne is proudly Saxon; founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in the small town of Glashütte. In addition to holding numerous patents and crafting the Grand Complication in 2013 – the most complicated wristwatch at that time and limited to just six pieces – the brand has succeeded in designing a mechanical digital watch. These timepieces are endowed with jumping numeral mechanism consisting of three discs, which advances and stops the large numerals through a constant-force escapement. Today, the brand presents its watches under six families: Lange 1, 1815, Richard Lange, Saxonia, Zeitwerk and Odysseus.

Zeitwerk Minute Repeater

ZEITWERK MINUTE REPEATER

First presented in 2015, it is the only watch that combines a mechanical jumping numerals display with a decimal minute repeater. This complicated timepiece, which takes several months to construct, has previously only been available in platinum. At this year’s W&W, the brand unveiled the watch in white gold with a deep-blue dial; as a limited edition of 30 pieces.

Odysseus

Odysseus

The most recent watch family of A. Lange & Söhne, now has a new addition – the Odysseus in white gold with an integrated strap of rubber or leather. The sporty-elegant timepiece with the out-size date, large day-of-week display and a water-resistant case has a grey dial with a three-dimensional effect resulting from its unusual surface structure.
