Tumi And Langham Announce New Partnership To Promote Sustainable Travel

Tumi, the premium travel and lifestyle brand, and The Langham, a collection of luxury properties by the Langham Hospitality Group, have announced a new partnership based on the two brands’ “shared commitment to building a more sustainable future in travel.”

Tumi has unveiled a new V4 Recycled 4-Wheeled Carry-On in close collaboration with The Langham. The hard side suitcase is made from recycled materials and comes with a limited-edition blush initials patch reminiscent of the luxury hotel brand’s signature hue. Each case features textured finishing with speckled pigments that highlight the repurposed materials extensively used in its production and feature an embossed recycled metal logo.

The complete Tumi V4 Recycled Collection, all made with recycled materials, is available on Tumi’s website. The brand also presented Tumi Merge in SS2020, its first-ever travel collection made with recycled materials. It also presented Alpha Bravo in seasonal Grey/Bright Lime, and Grey/Bright Red made with fabric engineered from post-consumer recycled bottles and post-industrial recycled nylon.

Tumi has a long-standing commitment to developing products that are built to last with purposefully engineered repairability in its designs. Tumi’s global repair network contributes significantly to this goal.

The Langham Hospitality Group has partnered with EarthCheck to ensure that its hotel’s operations and environmental sustainability efforts are assessed and benchmarked against the best in the travel and tourism industry. Currently, over 10 of Langham Hospitality Group’s hotels have been recognised as EarthCheck Hotels, including four hotels achieving the coveted status of Platinum-Certified EarthCheck hotels.

The Langham and Tumi’s multi-faceted collaboration kicked off in Greater China (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hefei and Haikou) with the unveiling of the exclusive “Celebrate the Perfect Journey” staycation package. Each confirmed reservation of this bespoke package will be presented with complimentary gifts: the Tumi x Langham suitcase in Pastel Pink and an accents kit that includes a stylish blush luggage tag, monogram patch, zipper pull ties and handle wrap.

In addition, the partnership will also offer premium benefits to both Tumi and The Langham rewards programme members, with details to be shared online.

In addition to pre-launching our exciting new recycled Tumi V4 with the ‘Celebrate the Perfect Journey’ staycation package, our collaboration aims to elevate eco-friendly experiences for when our customers will travel again,” said Adam Hershman, Vice President of Tumi, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

“This merging of the ecological aspirations for both The Langham and Tumi has been in the works for months, and I’m delighted that we are playing a part in inviting people to travel responsibly,” said Stefan Leser, Chief Executive Officer, Langham Hospitality Group. “While we may not be able to venture far at the present time, there is still much to explore closer to home, and I know many of our guests are now very mindful of being safe and environmentally conscious at the same time.”

Guests who book the “Celebrate the Perfect Journey” staycation package will receive a complimentary room upgrade at the selected The Langham hotels, along with daily breakfast for two, an afternoon tea experience on the arrival day, a 20% off on F&B and spa treatments, early check-in and late check-out privileges, and complimentary valet parking.
