The Other House South Kensington, situated in the heart of London’s Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, is London’s first ‘Residents Club’ – an innovative hospitality concept that offers a blend of apartment-style living, hotel services, and complimentary access to an exclusive private members club.
With the launch of its Residents Club concept – think pied-à-terre meets private club – The Other House brand has effectively created a new sector within luxury hospitality. The facilities are available for residents to enjoy whether it’s for a day or a year. The apartment is like a second home, or ‘the other house,’ for as long as a resident wishes to be in town.
Launched in 2019, The Other House is a joint venture between London Central Portfolio (LCP) – a leading real estate investment advisory in Central London, and APG – the largest pension provider in the Netherlands. The South Kensington property is the brand’s first, launched in July 2022. The second property, in Covent Garden, is set to open in early 2025 with plans for Belgravia in the pipeline. Further openings in London and internationally are also in the works.
The Other House’s South Kensington building encapsulates the essence of British charm and heritage with its traditional Victorian architecture and its maximalist interiors. Every aspect of the property – from locally sourced artwork to bespoke furnishings and premium amenities – evokes a sense of place and heritage.
The Other House South Kensington consists of more than 200 ‘Club Flats,’ ranging from cosy studios of varying sizes through to spacious two-bedroom or duplex apartments. All accommodation units offer a sitting area, kitchenette, bedroom and shower room.
The Club Flats can also be combined into ‘combo’ options where all the units open onto a shared private courtyard. The options available, therefore, can cater to a broad spectrum of guests, from solo travellers to families or friends travelling as a group.
At the heart of The Other House experience is the Residents Club – an exclusive private club accessible only to residents and local members. The members club features two beautiful lounges, one with a decidedly outdoor feel and perfect for an English summer.
There is an extensive menu of wellbeing facilities and experiences, an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, 24-7 gym and concierge service.
House Blend, The Other House South Kensington’s 2024 culture and events calendar showcases the best of the local culture and surrounding neighbourhood of South Kensington, from VIP DJ sets and jazz brunches to behind-the-scenes access to iconic landmarks such as the Royal Albert Hall or shopping spree at Harrods.
