The Arts Club Dubai unveils “That Which Does Not Belong,” a stairway exhibition that orchestrates a dialogue between space, identity, and artistry. This presentation is akin to a manifesto of the multidimensional, brought forth by the visionary trio Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh, and Hesam Rahmanian.

At the heart of this exhibition lies a collaboration that transcends geographical and conceptual boundaries. Born in the vibrant cultural landscape of Iran and flourishing under the Dubai sky, the trio’s journey from individual artists to a unified creative force embodies a rebellion against the conventional narrative of art creation.

Their collective work, a mélange of sculpture, painting, and collage, serves not merely as art but as a vessel for dialogue, challenging the viewer to reconsider the boundaries of identity and the essence of co-creation.

The exhibition features seminal works, including the “Garden of Grandmothers” collages, a testament to the evolving nature of art as influenced by time and the elements. These pieces, adorned with portraits of female icons, challenge societal hierarchies and pay homage to the indelible mark of women in the arts.

Another highlight, “One of the Poems from Mu’allaqats,” extends the boundaries of the canvas to embrace public spaces, intertwining the legacy of early Arabic poetry with contemporary societal narratives.

Behind the scenes, the support from patrons such as Snow Feinan Li, Samia Buazza, Olivier Mestelan, and Marwan Abu Manneh, coupled with the curatorial expertise of Amelie von Wedel and Pernilla Holmes, underscores the collaborative spirit that defines this exhibition. This synergy of artists, patrons, and curators exemplifies the collective endeavor that art, at its core, represents.

“That Which Does Not Belong” is more than an art exhibition. It is a journey through the confluence of ideas, a space where the static becomes dynamic, and art transcends the confines of traditional labels. It invites the viewer to ponder not just the art on display but the very process of artistic creation and the myriad ways in which art intersects with life.
